Yes, I realize that I should be writing about veterans but I did that in July and I want to share something special with you.
Last month I was walking in Derby with friends and as we passed the green a statue was pointed out to me, I was awestruck with the beauty and symbolism. It was a memorial to 911 in a manner that I have never seen before.
There was a large gray pentagon about four feet tall, symbolizing the Washington D.C. Pentagon, with two large towers rising from the middle. A few feet away was a black area on the ground symbolizing where the plane went down in Pennsylvania. I immediately took a picture which I am attaching. Hope you can see it.
I doubt if anyone will ever forget that day, it will remain in our memories like December 7 (Peal Harbor Day) remains for those who were alive then. The nation pulled together and there were American flags all over. It was great.
Last December I drove from Connecticut to Florida. After Pennsylvania I only saw three American flags till we arrived in Florida. So sad. My husband and I have a flag flying everyday in Connecticut and Florida. I hope you do also.
And before I sign off I want to wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving. I will be leaving for Florida right after Thanksgiving so if you want an appointment better call now.
Please share with family, friends and strangers.
