New Opportunities as a Result of Hypnosis
We returned from warm Florida on May 3 and quickly realized that Connecticut is still cold. Fortunately my sweat shirts are still here. It is strange having two places to live at the same time but in many ways we all have two homes.
After 35 years of working at the same place, I used to say the “VA Medical Center was my home away from home.” We spent one third of our working lives in our work place. Our personality’s are different, our clothes are different and even the way we speak is different in different places. Usually the change in our behavior is unconscious and a habit. But who is the real you? The author, Sue Bender said, “Finding out who you are is not simple. It takes a lot of hard work and courage to get to know who you are and what you want.”
Some days we feel on top of the world and other days it can be hard to get out of bed.
We are programmed to be unique, and I feel it is necessary to like the person we actually are. We should be our very own closest friend, but instead we tend to be harder on ourselves then we are on others. We not only want to be like other people but we want to be a perfect version of them.
Yes, there are many things about us that we should and could change but it takes work.
Fortunately I have a suggestion to make the process easier. My favorite hypnosis book is “Hypnosis For Change”, by Josie Hadley and Carol Staudacher. In the introduction they say the following: Hypnosis can be amazingly effective and often is directly responsible for major changes in an individual’s life pattern.” It is not always guaranteed but hypnosis can help you to establish a fresh outlook on your problems. You can determine what works best for you.
Remember that every challenge in life offers a new opportunity.
