We are in the middle of the golf season and I am sure there are some people happy about this and others who would like to extend the season.
Golf is actually a great game for more then fun.
It is a great way to do business, make contacts and develop relationships. Non-professional golfers think if they just perfect their swing, they will play well but pro golfers know that without a good mental game, there are no good results.
The key to attaining peak performance in golf is the ability to let go of conscious control, trust the practiced skills and allow the awareness of the unconscious mind to create the shot. Have you ever walked into the kitchen and not remember why you went there? To remember you can either retrace your footsteps or STOP and take a deep breath to allow your mind to focus.
If you tell yourself that that you stupid or just plain simple minded you are putting negative thoughts in your mind that will be reinforced every time you repeat them to yourself.
It’s the same thing on the golf course, or anywhere else. When a golfer is in the “zone” he has let go of all the emotions and restrictions (mental blocks) that the unconscious mind has stored up.
There is a new development in psychology called “energy psychology.”Energy psychology is the application of the principles of acupuncture (without needles) to psychological issues. You can think of it as psychological acupressure. Emotional Freedom Therapy (EFT) is much more efficient than conventional sport psychology techniques.
It is much faster and gentler.
It is also simple and easily learned as a self-help tool. You can take it out on the course and use it as needed during a round. EFT is the superior tool for collapsing mental blocks. EFT helps to improve your focus and to deal with past performances trauma, stress and inconsistency. EFT doesn’t make you a better golfer… it frees you to be a better golfer.
